Domestic Gas Services
Caravan Gas Safety checks and certification
Modern caravans (touring and static caravans), motorhomes, and lodges are all built to high quality standards and are fitted out with domestic quality gas appliances. All gas appliances must be installed in accordance with current gas safety requirements. This is to comply with the law and to ensure minimal risk to you and your family. Annual gas safety inspections are not mandatory in the UK; however, they are increasingly becoming a requirement for insurance. Most parks now require that privately owned static caravans have an annual gas safety test. In addition, it is always important to ensure gas equipment and appliances are regularly serviced for piece of mind.
Gas Safety Checks
Safety is paramount!
On an annual basis, all gas appliances in rented properties have to be checked for safety. I provide this service issuing a gas safety certificate to the landlord or managing agent, whilst also leaving a copy with the property occupier.
I will contact current customers within 1 month prior to the expiry of the current certificate. This will ensure adequate steps can be taken to arrange an appointment for continuation of the certificate. To arrange a first appointment contact me via the contact form or call 07905 000 410
Gas Safety Inspection Procedure
Appliance put into operation.
Checked with a Flue Gas Analyser where possible.
Minor faults rectified.
Major faults reported.
Gas regulation infringements reported if any.
Gas tightness.
Any gas regulation infringements will be reported, and the landlord and tenant will be issued with all appropriate paperwork and appliance labels.
If an appliance is found to be in a dangerous or potentially dangerous condition it will be disconnected and capped without exception.
Remedial work can be quoted for upon request and a priority appointment will be booked in.
Safety Awareness
Carbon monoxide dangers
The Corgi Trust in 2010 reports that seven of the 17 deaths caused by carbon monoxide in the last year were associated with cooking appliances, the highest number since 2000/01.
Detection
The best course of action is to take steps that prevent carbon monoxide becoming a problem in the first place.
Raise the general awareness of the risks associated with carbon monoxide by communicating the relevant information to friends, family, and work colleagues.
Be aware of the sources of carbon monoxide especially in domestic properties where a number of appliances could be responsible.
Get appliances professionally installed and regularly serviced to ensure they work efficiently and safely.
Ensure adequate ventilation for all fuel burning appliances.
Install monitoring devices for the early detection of excess carbon monoxide.
Recognise the early signs and symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning, particularly when more than one family or work member is affected and seek medical promptly.
Servicing
Safety is paramount!
In my opinion safety comes first and it is not negotiable!
On an annual basis the Gas Safe Register recommends a service or inspection are done on all appliances, tadalafil including cookers which are often forgotten yet used so regularly.
